The Mausoleum of Shah Nematollah Vali: A Shining Jewel of Iranian Mysticism and Art
The mausoleum of Shah Nematollah Vali, the renowned mystic and poet of the 8th century AH, is located in the historic city of Mahan, in the Kerman province. It is recognized as one of the most brilliant examples of Islamic-Iranian architecture. This magnificent complex, which expanded from the Timurid era through the Qajar period, reflects the evolution of Iranian architectural art over many centuries—from its turquoise domes to the exquisite tile-adorned iwans (porches).
Over time, natural damages and structural erosion threatened this precious monument. In response, Armaghan Sarouj KheshtTalaee, with over twenty years of experience in restoring and revitalizing historic buildings, undertook the responsibility of restoring parts of this valuable complex. The restoration process employed traditional materials, authentic conservation methods, and full adherence to preservation principles to safeguard the historical authenticity and spiritual identity of the mausoleum, returning it to its former glory.
